Jesus said only those who do the will of his Father can enter the kingdom of heaven. But how many people know what is the will?
Matthew 7
21"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
Matthew's Gospel?
If the gospel was written by Matthew, why did he describe his own calling in the third person? And if he is only called now in the collector's booth, surely he did not witness what happened earlier. So how could he have written the previous texts?
Matthew 9
9(As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew, sitting in the tax collector's booth; and He said to him, "Follow Me!" And he got up and followed Him.
Jesus came for Israel only
Jesus specifically told his 12 disciples to preach only to Israel. So was his kingdom of heaven meant for the Jews only?
5These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: "Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans;
6but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Soul first mentioned
In Matthew 10:28, Jesus mentioned soul for the first time. He also said that the body and soul can be destroyed in hell. If they can be destroyed, why should the people worry about going to hell?
Matthew 10
28"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Jesus then said he came to bring chaos instead of peace! It surely reads like this was not in the original texts. Then, he talks about carrying the cross. He was not yet crucified, so how did the subject of carrying the cross come in at this point?
34"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35"For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW;
36and A MAN'S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.
37"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38"And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
The Bible-god biased?
Matthew 11
25At that time Jesus said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants.
26"Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.
Jesus was supposed to save the world, yet he said only his disciples were granted to know the mysteries of heaven.
Matthew 12
10And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?"
11Jesus answered them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.
A Cloud Again
The Bible-god again appears in the form of a cloud and a voice. Why must it always be a cloud? Again a spaceship is involved? And it was up in a mountain, just like during the days in the Old Testament. I also wonder what language the Bible-god used, and if it was the same one as in the OT?
Matthew 17
1Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves.
2And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light.
3And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
4Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
5While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!"
The Church?
This is the first time Jesus used the word 'church'. I wonder if someone added these verses? Jesus was against the Pharisees and traditional powers, and suddenly he instructs his disciples to get the church to mediate. Who was the church at that time?
15"If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
16"But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.
17"If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
In Matthew 21, the place of worship was referred to as a temple, definitely not a church.
12And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.
Whole World?
Matthew 24:9 says,
14"This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Will the gospel ever be preached to the whole world? Even with our technology today, it does not seem possible. And what did Jesus mean by 'the end'?
Disasters Did Not Happen?
In the following verses, he seemed to talk about physical disasters which should happen soon, during the time of the disciples and not something in the future. He gave very specific instructions for survival and even mentioned winter, which should be referring to the place he was in then. It cannot be for the whole world, as some countries like Singapore and Malaysia do not have winter.
15"Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
16then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.
17"Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house.
18"Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.
19"But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
20"But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.
21"For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.
Then I wonder how the days will be cut short. Was he talking about the whole duration of the disasters or the length of a day?
22"Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but forthe sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
23"Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' do not believe him.
24"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.
25"Behold, I have told you in advance.
26"So if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them.
Jesus then used lightning to signify his return. A familiar description of the Bible-god.
27"For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
28"Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
I asked this question about John seeing stars fall from the sky in the Book of Revelations. Jesus said the same thing. Today, we know that it is not possible at all! We also know today that the moon does not give out light.
29"But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
