At this point of time, it would be very appropriate to look at Christmas from another angle.
Some sects of Christianity dispute the idea of Christmas, and they may have their point. I personally have some questions too. Christians often claim that "The Bible says so...". But when it comes to some of their traditions which are not found in the Bible, well....
1. Is 25th Dec the genuine birthday of Jesus? There is no proof from the Bible about this. Anyway, the early apostles did not celebrate the birth of Jesus, so why are the Christians doing it now? There is also no commandmant in the Bible to do so.
2. What has Santa Claus got to do with Jesus? Is he satan in disguise?
3. What has the Christmas tree got to do with Jesus?
4. Who coined the word Christmas as it is not found in the Bible?
5. If Christmas if Christian, why is it an international holiday and celebrated by everyone?
I have challenged Christians over this issue and have not gotten a satisfactory answer, except that it had been done for centuries so it must be correct. Some found this question worth thinking over, but did not have the courage to reject it as they were afraid of offending the church (maybe for fear of going to hell).
